Jordan runs the farm operations side of the business. He and his team hang with the animals—on the pastures and in the forest, managing 500 regeneratively-farmed acres.
Jordan also leads our farm tours, talks about farming & business on podcasts and at conferences, and is the founder of FarmBuilder.us and the popular FarmBuilder YouTube channel.
He is a United States Marine Corps veteran (2004-2009) and graduate of the apprentice program at Polyface Inc. (2001-2002). Prior to that, he grew up on his family’s homestead in Virginia and had several successful small farm enterprises.
Laura runs the retail side of the business. She and her team hang with the humans—in the store, on deliveries, and behind the keyboard. If it has to do with J&L products and customers, she's got it!
Laura also runs the poultry processing team during the summer, and fills in pretty much anywhere as needed on farm operations at any point during the year.
Outside of farm responsibilities, Laura is a Certified Holistic Life Coach specializing in empowering loving moms. Learn about her work at wholeheartedcoach.com.
She grew up on her family’s small farm in Texas, and before co-founding J&L Green Farm with Jordan she had a successful career in the banking sector.
This may surprise you: we don't "make" our kids work on the farm. Our kids do work on the farm when they want to, which is often because we do our best to set the scenario for success.
We teach them. We encourage them. We push them to improve themselves. We praise them. We reward them. (Not always $$)
A lot of times they'll show up, work with us for a bit, then head off to the next interest.
